We cannot get to everyone; we cannot help our own family, friends, and fellow countrymen! How does this make you feel to know that the people we know are in pain, are starving, and are scared? More can be done about this! The people trapped in their homes and dying could be saved. There are two options; One, volunteers can go south and help out as much as they can, which isn’t likely because most people feel that its not their problem, that’s why we pay taxes and that the government should protect us, so now we come to our Second option, Our government gets off their lazy asses, gets the hell out of Iraq, and sends as much help if not more to our own state’s disaster areas! The government sent more money to the tsunami struck countries a year ago, than they’ve helped out their own country. We are currently rebuilding Iraq, when our own country is in a state of disaster. Hundreds are dead, and countless people are stuck in their homes dead, starving, and dying. Women and children are lost, families can’t find each other, and thousands are left homeless.

We live in the United States of America, and our government is doing less than what they did to help out other countries. We are citizens of a country who would put more time, effort, money, and man power, to help others when we are suffering from the same type of disaster! What is going on here? I am shocked and disappointed that our president has his head in foreign affairs before he looks to the best interest of his own countrymen. Where is our help? Where is our president when we need him most? People in this crisis need his help now, not later. Now while we can still save those who are trapped in their homes, now before children and families are permanently separated, now before everything and everyone around us is gone, or dead!

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/08/31/katrina.glance31.ap/index.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake

http://www.stateline.org/live/ViewPage.action?siteNodeId=71&languageId=1&contentId=34517

Brandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00323759494705591540noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15120406.post-1124835880121873622005-08-23T20:19:00.000-02:002005-08-23T20:24:40.126-02:00Jackson might have actually been innocent!!!Micheal Jackson was recently aquited of all charges of molestation with a minor. Now the mother of the boy is being accussed of welfare fraud. When she was on the stand at the jackson trial, she pleaded the 5th amendment. Which if you don't know... means that you refuse to be on stand and incriminate yourself.

The jury stated afterwards, that her lack of credibility in the matter was a main factor in the trial.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/08/23/jackson.accuser.ap/index.html

Brandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00323759494705591540noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15120406.post-1124422174347087182005-08-19T01:28:00.000-02:002005-08-19T01:29:34.353-02:00Evolution/Species/Races- questions raisedI thought I would bring up this topic... I am very interested in learning more about this topic. For some reason early man has a certain curiosity with me. It’s interesting to think about or learn about. I mean if we did come from a form of monkey, if we did evolve into what we are now... I mean its got to be interesting to see if we have stopped evolving or are going to continue to something much different than what we are now.

After all, we have evolved in some ways. We've increased our life expectancies, height, and have become immune to certain past diseases and plagues. So why would we not have evolved from a different body structure, or mind? It’s not impossible, but for some Christians it’s hard to even listen to it. I am a Christian, and I still believe in evolution. How I can combine the two? I see it as the bible has many metaphors that no one understands. The bible doesn't tell us everything about the world, dinosaurs, about God, and any other questions that boggle the human mind. So I see it, as the bible is to guide and give light, but at the same time, still help you figure out some of the pieces yourself. After all, God can't force you to believe in him, and he can't make it completely understandable for us! If he did, well life would seem almost pointless, the fun is to try and figure out what’s what.

When it comes to calling animals and even humans into categories such as “species”, “cousins”, “families”, and “races”… I don’t get it. I mean… why do they call animals “species” and call humans “races” What is the big difference between the two?

Below are website for the definitions of the two words:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=species

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=races

Here is an example of my confusion. Below are the different races/species of the two.

Lemurs:
 Black
 Mongoose
 Brown
 Red-bellied
 Crowned
 Gray Bamboo
 Ring-Tailed
 Ruffed
 Golden Bamboo

Humans:
 Black
 White
 Hispanic
 Asian
 Indian
 American Indian
 Ect…

The lemurs are all called lemurs… no matter what their fur difference, body shape, and food… just like humans… we have our racial differences as in hair, body shape, skin color, and food. So why are we races, and the animals species, if we did evolve from animals… then aren’t we one?

I found this on a website:

http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v3/i3/human_race.asp

Anyone with their opinions, questions, or anything at all to say… just do so.

Brandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00323759494705591540noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15120406.post-1123192192144627582005-08-04T16:49:00.000-02:002005-08-06T17:24:55.016-02:00Rev. Jesse Jackson called in after 5 year old cuffed by policeOn March 14th, a 5 year old black kindergartner was hand cuffed after throwing a tantrum.

The young girl was caught on video tape that was released earlier this year after tearing papers off of a bulletin board, climbing on a table, and punching the assistant principal.

Soon after, they school didn't call the parents, or try to restrain her, instead they call the police on a five year old! Before the police arrived, the tape also showed that the girl was calming down before the officers approached her. The officers then pin her arms down and hand cuff her hands behind her back, all while the little girl cried and scream, "NO!" The young girl was then put int he back of a squad car, had her feet restrained, and was arrested.

Later the girl was released without charges.

The officers involved in the incident were not punished. The video of the March 14 confrontation prompted criticism of the police and school system, and charges of racism that brought the Rev. Jesse Jackson to town to meet with school officials. The girl is black, and the police officers are white.

The girl's mother plans to sue the city, and was the one who released the tape earlier this year.

Brandyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00323759494705591540noreply@blogger.com2
